Teams on the move, not on a stand
Roaming Sampling That Goes To The Footfall
Roaming sampling puts the product in people’s hands while they are moving. Instead of waiting at a fixed position for consumers to come to them, the team walks the route, carries the stock and hands out as the crowd passes. One roaming pair covers far more ground in a shift than one static position ever will.
It is the product sampling format for campaigns where the audience does not stop: a commuter flow, a busy pavement, a crowd leaving a venue, a queue that is already forming. It also suits brands with no pitch booked, because a roaming team needs walking space rather than floor space.
Bookings are made per team, per location, per day. You tell us where you want teams, the dates, the hours and how many pairs you want out, and we come back with a fully itemised quote, usually within hours.
An itemised quote, usually within hours, with day rates, hours and on-costs broken down. No hidden fees and a single invoice.
Assigned once the quote is signed off, with a project manager on the booking and 24/7 support while it runs.
Our operations team pick people on skills, experience and location, so the pair working a route came from the nearest of our 40 hubs.
Your briefing form becomes a tailored document covering the product USPs, the audience and the key messages, so teams arrive ready.
Right to work and ID verified. Employer and Public Liability cover on every campaign. DBS, food hygiene and risk assessments on request.
We are the employer. PAYE, tax, National Insurance and HR are all handled in house.
Shift reminders, geo-tagged check-ins and live attendance monitoring, which matters more when the team is not standing in one place.
Reporting with attendance confirmation, on-site photos and feedback, quoted alongside the staffing as an add-on.
From displaying creative thinking against brief, to first-class operational deployment and campaign review. EXECUTIONAL were a value-adding partner to collaborate with.

What we supply
The Five Roaming Jobs We Staff
Roaming work is decided by what the team is carrying and how the crowd behaves. These are the five jobs, and the kit that goes with each one.
Walkabout Crews
A pair or a small group covering a set route on foot, handing out as they go and doubling back when the flow changes. The default format and the one that covers the most ground.
- Working an agreed route rather than a fixed position
- Carrying stock in branded bags, trays or backpacks
- Delivering the message set out in your briefing document
Suits: snacks, confectionery, energy drinks, printed offers, app sign-ups
Chilled Carriers
The same walkabout format with cold chain kit, for anything that has to stay chilled from the van to the consumer’s hand.
- Insulated backpacks and cool bags carried on the route
- Restocking from a base point through the shift
- Food hygiene certification available on request
Suits: yoghurts, iced coffee, chilled drinks, dairy, ready meals
Queue And Crowd Interceptors
Teams that work a queue or a crowd that has stopped moving. People waiting are a captive audience and will take the time to hear what the product is.
- Working the length of a queue rather than the head of it
- Longer conversations than a pavement handout allows
- Moving on as the queue clears and reforming where the next one builds
Suits: new launches, anything needing an explanation, subscription offers
Branded Trolley And Trike Teams
Where volume is too high to carry, the team pushes or pedals it. A branded unit that moves is a roaming format, not a stand, and it draws attention on its own.
- Higher stock volume than a carried format allows
- A visible brand cue that moves with the team
- Repositioned through the day as footfall shifts
Suits: high-volume giveaways, ice cream, canned drinks, seasonal campaigns
Roaming Team Leads
Where several pairs are out at once, or the campaign covers more than one town in a day, an event manager or campaign lead runs the logistics and is your single point of contact.
- Coordinating pairs working separate routes
- Liaising with venues and landowners on access
- Holding the brief consistent across every team out that day
Before you book
Walking Space Still Needs Permission
A roaming team takes up no floor space, which is why brands assume it needs no permission. On private land it needs the landowner’s agreement, and on a public pavement it needs the council’s.
Where permission is needed we arrange it. There are costs attached and they differ from council to council, so they are quoted alongside the staffing rather than buried in it.
Roaming is a format, not a place. Where a campaign is anchored to one setting the format usually changes with it, and each setting is quoted differently: high street sampling works a pavement with no venue behind it, sampling in train stations is governed by the station operator, sampling in supermarkets happens inside someone else’s store, and office product sampling depends on the building manager letting you in.
