The brief

PCR London Valves brings leading cardiologists, medical professionals and Key Opinion Leaders to London from across the globe. The three-day congress runs live case demonstrations, simulation learning pathways, keynote sessions, sponsored sessions and a dedicated recording studio.

The organisers return to us edition after edition. The brief: two event managers and up to 50 temporary event staff per day, covering the Welcome Area, Rooms A to F and The Exchange, the PCR Recording Studio and the Speaker Service Centre, all with discretion in a high-profile medical setting.

Sessions, studio and speakers

In the session rooms staff welcome participants, hand out materials, check badges and manage Simulation Learning Pathway passports. They work as assistant stage managers, keeping sessions to time and handling microphones and AV needs, and scan attendees into sponsored sessions so changeovers run smoothly.

In the Recording Studio they coordinate filming schedules for Key Opinion Leaders, and in the Speaker Service Centre they support presenters with last-minute uploads and changes. Stock is replenished across the venue so supplies never run short.

Team and management

• Briefings: a clear briefing before every shift, so each person knows their zone and role.
• Escalation: defined escalation routes from every zone to the two event managers.
• Coordination: real-time communication lets the managers move staff to where sessions need them.

Two senior event managers oversee daily operations, each supervising their own team. Staff wear branded white shirts and ID badges, so delegates can find help anywhere on the floor.
