City Centres

The main shopping areas in each city centre guarantee high footfall during the peak midweek and weekend shopping times. There are quite a few things to consider when planning a city centre promotion, here are just a few to help you along! If at any stage you feel like you need some advice, give one of our account managers a call on 0845 680 97 29.
City Centre Licences
Each city centre may or may not have specific licences which are needed to execute the promotion. This has really come from laws regarding leaflet distribution but nowadays covers all manner of promotional activity. We have a database of all licence requirements in the UK – click here to read more about this.
City Centre Event Spaces
Local councils also rent out promotional space in city centres; this gives you the opportunity to have a promotional space within the main shopping areas. This is perfect for where there is a need for a static promotion or display or where you have sometype of promotional vehicle in place. Although these sites are usually in high footfall locations, there is usually a high price to pay for the privilege of being there! Each booking is bespoke and usually needs to be given the green light from the council. Call us to chat this through in more detail.
Roaming / Street Promotions
Many clients to do not want to have a static display and can see the merits of having promotional teams being able to go where the footfall takes them. Not only are these types of promotion much more sensible budget wise, but they allow the teams to split their day and target different demographics as the day runs on. An example could be found below:
- Early Morning Commuter Links
- Followed By Office To Office Visits
- Then Busy Lunchtime High street During Peak Periods
- Finally Back To The Commuter Links
This way the teams are busy throughout their day and you avoid paying slip shift prices during their working day. This is just an example; many clients prefer to avoid the morning commuter run unless we are sampling something really relevant at that time of the day!
